Helping Rebuild Haiti Green

As the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Haiti faces several disadvantages in the realm of politics, economics, and daily living habits. These problems include, but are hardly limited to, political unrest, overpopulation, disease, natural disasters and environmental degradation throughout the country. With the recent earthquake that hit Haiti in January of 2010, these issues are now magnified and have put Haiti in an extremely vulnerable state.


In order to provide sustainable and effective rebuilding of this country, Haiti must take advantage of the benefits of green construction practices. Through research, examination, and evaluation, we suspect that utilizing green building practices to rebuild Haiti will be the ideal and most valuable option for this country
